Miso Making Tours at Miasa Highland Fermentation Warehouse

Miasa Highland Fermentation Warehouse holds fun classes where you can try making miso by hand and sample various misos to see how they differ by type, flavor, and length of aging.

To customers who have made winter bookings:
Starting from Wednesday, January 1, 2025, until Thursday, March 20,
the 11:00 am session will be suspended,
and only the 2:00 pm session will be available.

Notice to Visitors
  • ・ Duration: Miso Making Tour only → 45 minutes. Miso Making Tour + Miso Tasting Class → 90 minutes.
  • ・ When booking, please indicate (or tell us over the phone) the number of people in your party and how many batches of miso you’ll be making.
  • ・ We can only accept cash payments made on site and on the day of the tour.
  • ・ Miasa Highland Fermentation Warehouse is a smoke-free facility.
  • ・ Pets are prohibited in all the buildings.​ ​
  • ・ Food and beverages are prohibited in all the buildings
  • ・ We may not be able to admit guests without reservations.
  • ・ Admission may be refused to guests who are under the influence of alcohol.
  • ・ Tours will be held together with other guests. Please be aware that young children may also be present.

BusTraveling by bus

From Shinano-Ōmachi station

Route 01:
From "Shinano-Ōmachi Station", take the Kawate line Fureai Gō city bus bound for "Kawate" and get off at "Nashimine". Then change to the Sakainomiya line bound for "Sakainomiya", and get off at "Kizakiko Iriguchi (Lake Kizaki Entrance)". From there it's approximately 10 minutes on foot (Approximately 40 minutes on the bus + 10 minutes on foot).

Route 02:
From "Shinano-Ōmachi Station", take the Nagano–Ōmachi Alpico Express bus on the Ogizawa line bound for "Nagano Station East Exit", and get off at "Shingyo". From there it's approximately 10 minutes on foot.(Approximately 20 minutes on the bus + 10 minutes on foot)

From Nagano Station East Exit

From "Nagano Station East Exit", take the Nagano–Ōmachi Alpico Express bus on the Ogizawa line bound for "Ogizawa", and get off at "Shingyo". From threr it's approximately 10 minutes on foot. (Approximately 50 minutes on the bus + 10 minutes on foot)
